Saturday 13 June 2026, 10am-12noon.
Service Description
You mentioned beekeeping – we responded! We have managed to arrange a fantastic hands-on beekeeping experience. Join us for a 2 hour apiary visit where you will be provided with a suit and get up close and personal with bees. Discover the intricate life-cycle of bees, hive dynamics and how honey is harvested. Hands-on experience: feel the buzz, spot the queen and witness young bees emerging from their cells. There will also be honey tasting – sample different varieties of honey and learn how each is made. Other bee products will be for sale (cash and cards accepted) Please indicate the size of beekeeping suit you will require when booking. As a guide size medium is approximately 38’’ chest. Please wear long sleeves, trousers and long boots or wellies. You will need to make your own way to Hemingbrough, location details will be provided nearer the time. Important, please read the accompanying notes: NOTES: A waiver must be signed due to the inherent risk of visiting an active apiary. Not suitable for people who have bee sting allergies. The visit is weather dependent and the day/time may need to be adjusted based on weather conditions. There is car parking on-site but due to the rural location no toilet. No refreshments available.
