Introduction to Blacksmithing/Forging

Service Description

This was such a fabulous workshop last year that we are repeating it. A great opportunity to experience working in a forge under the expert guidance of Andy. He is lovely, and very knowledgeable. You will have a full day at the forge where you will be helped to make two items each, from the list, to take home, learning different forging techniques as you go. Please indicate your choice of items when booking so that he can prepare the materials. Refreshments will be provided but please take your own lunch. You will be in a forge working with hot material so please wear old, non-flammable clothing and solid footwear. Safety equipment will be available as necessary. There are toilets on site which are basic but clean. You will need to make your own way to the venue which is near Conisborough. Directions will be provided, and a contact number for the day. Please plan your journey time. Items to make: small wood splitting tool; toasting fork; fire steel; poker; s-hook; bottle opener; hook tool for fires; camp fire tripod; crow bar.
