60 British pounds
Swinefleet Village Hall

Service Description

Have you ever wanted to learn how to weave? Peg loom weaving is one of the most ancient methods of weaving, possibly dating back to Viking times. It’s also relatively simple to pick up and can be done with a range of mediums. Sounds interesting? Well come and join this hands-on workshop and learn a historic craft. The session will cover weaving with sheep’s fleece. You will learn the basics of fleece preparation, setting up a loom, weaving and finishing your piece. By the end of the workshop, you will have made a small seat pad or pet mat to take home. All materials and equipment will be provided and if you wish to continue to do more weaving at home you can purchase the loom at the end of the session to take home too. Looms are £30, please bring cash if you think you may want to buy one. Light refreshments also included.
