Service Description
Why come to yoga? There are many benefits to developing a regular yoga practice. Here are just a few- Most people associate yoga with improved flexibility but it also strengthens muscles and keeps joints open and mobile, which in combination helps us avoid injury. The breath is central to yoga – in fact – the breath is what makes yoga, yoga. Breathing consciously is calming and helps us cultivate a steady and focused mind. Closing each class with a rest pose teaches us a technique to help with relaxation by calming the body and the mind which in turn helps combat stress. Yoga should be fun and accessible. We are all human, it’s ok to wobble and lose balance, but it’s OK to laugh too. Don’t worry if you can’t touch your toes or wrap yourself into a pretzel. People of all abilities, fitness and shapes can benefit from yoga so please come along and enjoy a class with like minded people. We all come to yoga with our lifestyle choices imprinted on our bodies, maybe we play sport or have past injuries or we spend long hours at a desk or driving or we spend too long in couch potato pose! Yoga can help balance our bodies and our minds. Please bring your own mat if you have one. Wear comfortable clothes that you can move freely in, such as track suit bottom and a T shirt. Yoga is practised with bare feet so that you don’t slip on the mat. It’s always useful to have some socks and an extra layer to put on at the end of the class for the relaxation.
